TO CARRY OUT 40m³ TK 508B CRUDE OIL TANK DESLUDGING & INTERNAL CLEANING AT KBC , KEMAMAN – RML JV NEW WIN ENGINEERING SDN BHD – MARCH 2022

Work methodology  – Desludging for TK 508B

Provision of minimum 16 pax workers in a team with Site engineer 1pax, supervisor 1pax , foreman 2pax , 12 pax skill worker (HPWJ & cleaner) with 1 team – work duration 16hrs a day. Provision tank cleaning equipment (lobe pump x 2units + 2 buffer tanks), consumables , SCBA Airline , 4 units of portable gas detector , ex-proof lighting 8nos, 2 unit 100 kva generator set + 1 unit air compressor 175 cfm & 8 units of pneumatic ventilation fan to perform the scope as per below:

  • To perform blinding for all inlet and outlet valve using non spark tools to blind all related connections
  • To provide spading and blinding material for installation and removal as per drawing
  • Dismantle 2 units of 24” tank manhole and nozzle and shall cover with plastic or end blind to prevent foreign material entering into the equipment
  • To perform ventilation using pneumatic blower and air purge for TK508B for a minimum of 8 hours
  • Gas test shall be done by client before entering into the tank to ensure safe condition for man entry ( 0 for LEL & H2S ) – 4 LEL meters was utilized.
  • To provide temporary drip pan using heavy duty canvas at bottom side of tank for control and minimize spillage of any waste residual.
  • To transfer 50m3 chemical product from tank internal to client provided tank for product transfer purpose. 
  • To pump out remaining oil to the minimum level prior remove sludge and transfer to designated location instructed by client
  • To remove the hardened content sludge by means diaphragm/Lobe pump hydraulically driven from the tank and transfer to client provided drums for solid sludge waste packaging
  • Final hard product was removed by means of a 15000psi HPWJ pump and all removed chunks were transported in to steel rubber lined drum provided by client. All drum movement and disposal was done by client.  
  • To assist client on sludge waste packaging and labelling as per DOE and client requirement.
  • Hand over on desludging scope without any LTA at site for a job duration of 90days.
